Free Forever, to Act for Themselves

“Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and His grace,
our failures to live the celestial law perfectly
and consistently in mortality can be erased…”

Thankful for Christ, His Gospel, and His Church

I am thankful that I have hope in Christ for the eternities.  I am grateful for his grace.  I am indebted to his mercy.  I owe Him everything.

"The ultimate end of all activity in the Church is to see a husband and his wife and their children happy at home, protected by the principles and laws of the gospel, sealed safely in the covenants of the everlasting priesthood. Husbands and wives should understand that their first calling—from which they will never be released—is to one another and then to their children."

Who’s on the Lord’s Side, Who?

Sharing Your Beliefs

As I begin my second year of this blog, I bear my testimony that God lives and loves us.  His beloved son is Jesus the Christ, Jehovah of olden time, our Savior who saves us with his grace.  The Holy Ghost will guide all those earnestly striving to know and live truth.

President Thomas S. Monson said, “This great cause in which we are engaged will continue to go forth, changing and blessing lives as it does so. No cause, no force in the entire world can stop the work of God. Despite what comes, this great cause will go forward. You recall the prophetic words of the Prophet Joseph Smith: ‘No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.’

There is much that is difficult and challenging in the world today, my brothers and sisters, but there is also much that is good and uplifting. As we declare in our thirteenth article of faith, “If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.” May we ever continue to do so.”

Peace through the Atonement - Allowing Grace to Save Me

I was so angry this morning.  I have allergies that can make me miserable at times.  A well-meaning family member washed both my bed sheets and pajamas, and in the process exposed these items to products designed to “freshen” and “soften” the material that was in contact with my body all last night.  I wound-up with itchy-watery eyes, a stuffy nose, and itching all over.  As if the physical symptoms were not bad enough, I had to compound the agony by allowing myself to be filled with anger over the matter.  Fortunately, everyone else is asleep when I am up in the wee hours of the morning, and they weren’t exposed to my uncontrolled emotions.  Even more fortunate, I was able to bow myself down in prayer, thank Heavenly Father for the individuals in my family, focus on the atonement of Jesus Christ, and request that this burden of anger and uncontrolled emotion be lifted from me.  A peace settled into my soul.  I learned before arising from prayer, that I need to express my love to this family member and be thankful for all her kind efforts.  I am so grateful for the atonement and the miracle of forgiveness.  I know we can have peace in this life through the grace of Jesus Christ.
